Back in high school, a classmate of mine posted this quote on FB. At that time, some of our high school teachers are our ‘friends’ on FB so you’ve gotta watch what you post.
My chemistry teacher saw my friend’s status of this quotation and the next day, instead of having class, she started telling us about how we need to respect their generation and stuff. She was really mad, and even called us “ungrateful children”. My classmate was even pinpointed as the cause of this awful talk instead of us having our class when she (the teacher) was the one who decided to talk about it. She kept repeating over and over and over again that it is in fact our generation who is at fault and not theirs. Maybe she has a point, but I believe that she cannot speak for everyone. Each of us has different experiences and for her to say that our generation is the faultiest… It’s completely insensitive and utterly disgusting. (And well, the talk ended when the teacher caught me reading a pocket book. I said sorry for that but she’s still mad as shit and basically I don’t think I ever liked any teacher in High School. I have fond memories of those days but very few include teachers.)
